Terms and Conditions of the Wedding Photography Contract
Between the Client and The Motley Cat Studio

Exclusive photographer: The photographer will be the exclusive photographer retained by the client for the purpose of photographing the wedding. Friends and family of the client may photograph the wedding and events as long as they do not interfere with the photographer, his equipment, his responsibilities or the wedding schedule.

Deposit and payment: A 30% deposit is required to retain the services of the photographer. Specific dates will not be reserved prior to receipt of this deposit. The deposit will be applied to the total cost of the wedding photography. The client will be responsible for paying the balance at least one week before the wedding.

Once a deposit is received, the day is reserved. The photographer will not schedule any other wedding or event on that day.

Clients can pay by cash, check or credit card. All credit card charges must be made in person at the studio.

Cancellations: No refunds will be made in the case of cancellations.

Changing dates : If wedding photography is booked for a specific date and the client changes the date, The Motley Cat Studio is no longer responsible for photographing the wedding and the deposit is forfeited to the studio. If the photographer is available on the new date, the deposit will be transferred to that date and the client will be charged an additional $250 for rescheduling.

Copyright and reproduction: The Motley Cat Studio will own the copyright on all images created and will have the exclusive right to make reproductions. The studio will only make reproductions for the client or for the photographer’s own portfolio, samples, promotion or display. The photographer or the studio will not make other uses of the photographs without first receiving written permission from the client.

Photographer: The contracted photographer will take all photographs and provide all services outlined in the contract. He may, however, substitute another photographer in the case of a serious illness or emergency. In the event of such a situation, the photographer warrants that the substitute will be a competent professional. The Motley Cat Studio will still be responsible for the delivery of proofs, albums and any other orders. The client will be informed of any illness or emergency and resulting changes before the wedding. The photographer will not send an associate in his place under any circumstances.
