Photographer: Tim Motley is the owner of The Motley Cat Studio. His commitment to you is simple. He will take the time, do the planning and provide the services needed to create a unique record of your wedding day - one that reflects your individual personality and taste.
Tim’s approach to wedding photography is basically photo journalistic. This means that most of his work is done without posing or prompting. The result is a collection of photographs which are sensitive, spontaneous, artistic and even humorous. Most clients are not even aware that Tim is taking pictures. Although Tim does shoot traditional formals at most weddings, they only make up about 10% of his total work.
Experience, expert planning and coordination are important services, but artistry is the most essential element in creating truly distinctive wedding photographs. Tim carries his background in fashion and fine art photography into his wedding photography. This results in unique images which show genuine emotion - anticipation, excitement and love - and an album which is far more that just a collection of pictures.
You can see many samples of photographs from different weddings on line or at the studio; however, each wedding is different and each album is different. Tim does not work from a formula to produce wedding photos.

Format: The Motley Cat Studio is a digital photography studio and all the equipment used is professional grade. Pre and post production work is done in house, giving the studio total control over final products.
Engagement and bridal portrait sessions: Engagement and bridal portrait sessions are available by appointment at the Motley Cat Studio. Engagement sessions must be scheduled before the wedding. Bridal portrait sessions can be scheduled before the wedding and up to six weeks after the wedding. Brides are responsible for scheduling all appointments.
Consultations: The initial consultation is a general information meeting. A second consultation will be scheduled two to three weeks before the wedding. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss details of the wedding, to identify any special needs and requests and to take care of final payments.
Rehearsal: In order to have a clear understanding of the setting and the wedding format, Tim will attend the wedding rehearsal whenever possible. If his schedule does not allow him to attend the rehearsal, he may ask the bride and groom to meet him at the site of the wedding for the final consultation rather than the studio.
Proofs, albums and print orders: The Motley Cat Studio offers on-line viewing of wedding proofs. Clients also receive a coffee table proof book. This is a collection of all your wedding proofs. Proofs are printed with three to four images per page in a 9x12 hand bound book with a custom cover photo and title page.
Generally albums and print orders will be ready in about 12 weeks, depending on the time of year, album selection and size of order. Custom albums may take an additional two to four weeks for delivery.
Contracts: The Motley Cat Studio requires that the photographer and the client sign a contract of agreement. This ensures a clear understanding of the needs and expectations of the bride and groom and the services to be provided through the studio. (For a printable version of
the contract, click here. For Terms
and Conditions, click here.)
Payment: Thirty percent of the total price of a wedding package is required at the time of booking. No wedding will be held without the deposit. The balance is due no later than one week before the wedding. All major credit cards are accepted. Credit card charges must be made in person, at the studio.
Cancellations and changes: No refunds will be made in the case of cancellation. If a client changes a wedding date, the studio is no longer responsible for photographing the wedding and the deposit is forfeited to the studio. If the photographer is available on the new date, the deposit will be transferred to that new date and the client will be charged an additional $250 rescheduling fee.
Travel: Tim Motley will travel to any location to photograph a wedding and reception. The minimum package for weddings more that 175 miles from the studio is Package #4. Additional charges for travel, lodging and meals will be added to the base price of the package. Clients may be charged a travel fee for weddings and/or receptions beyond a 50 mile radius of the studio or in situations that require additional driving. Prices are quoted upon request. .
Studio hours: The studio does not maintain regular business hours. This gives us the ability to be available for weekend and evening work. Because of our heavy weekend schedules and commitments, it is difficult to obtain weekend appointments.
